KevinRoll DRAFTING FOR THECommanders

Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Commanders, and a B- to prove it. Nobody else had Barryn Sorrell anywhere near No. 248. The Commanders did, by 67 spots, and that gap is the whole story. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
Marks at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In the 29th pick they get a rangy last line of defense, outstanding value to boot.
Pick61
Rnd2
TreVeyon Henderson
They did well to land TreVeyon Henderson in the 61st overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick128
Rnd4
Ty Robinson
Ty Robinson in the Round 4 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick205
Rnd6
Woody Marks
A running back of that caliber at pick No. 205 is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
Pick248
Rnd7
Barryn Sorrell
A real head-scratcher, Barryn Sorrell in No. 248 is miles ahead of his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
