Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Browns and Higgins: B.

Somebody in the 214th overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Browns sat still while Jay Higgins, the No. 123 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

Presley has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Tetairoa McMillan
A straight-up fair deal on Tetairoa McMillan at the 3rd pick, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton at pick No. 34 is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick65 Rnd3 Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell at slot 65 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick93 Rnd3 Malachi Moore
Steal is underselling it; Malachi Moore at pick 93 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick105 Rnd4 Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo at Round 4, Pick 4 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick166 Rnd5 Deontae Lawson
Deontae Lawson at the Round 5 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick177 Rnd6 Jacob Parrish
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jacob Parrish well ahead of where he belonged. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick191 Rnd6 Jordan Hancock
Nothing to complain about; Jordan Hancock went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick205 Rnd6 Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon II at Round 6, Pick 30 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick214 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins in No. 214 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick215 Rnd6 Brennan Presley
A wild overpay on Brennan Presley in pick No. 215, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
