You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Patriots did exactly that with Kaimon Rucker in pick 106. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
