Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Anto Saka at Round 3, Pick 26 is 31 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The Beck value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

The veteran additions, Ed Ingram chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

In the end, a class that has to defy its grades just to matter.
