Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB- NeedA- TradesC+ FutureB-
Ewers is the Browns' new face under center. Grade: B.

Start where it matters. The Browns took Quinn Ewers to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They are betting Webb proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Everette pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Quinn Ewers
In No. 8 they get the face of the franchise. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick39 Rnd2 Isaiah Bond
Value with a capital V on Isaiah Bond in slot 39, a genuine coup. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick70 Rnd3 Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. at pick No. 70 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick91 Rnd3 Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. in the 91st overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick106 Rnd4 Ajani Cornelius
Nothing to complain about; Ajani Cornelius went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick179 Rnd6 Daylen Everette
They read the board right and Daylen Everette was the payoff at pick 179. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick201 Rnd6 Hunter Wohler
They let Hunter Wohler come to them and pounced at the Round 6 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick215 Rnd7 Damien Martinez
They jumped the gun on Damien Martinez, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick216 Rnd7 Phillip Webb
Phillip Webb in pick 216 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
