FutureB-
The Commanders let Williams fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+. The Commanders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Savion Williams fell into the 248th pick. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
If Diggs pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Abdul Carter
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get a bendy edge with upside at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick63
Rnd2
Grey Zabel
You do not let an offensive lineman like Grey Zabel reach pick No. 63 and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick128
Rnd4
Dylan Fairchild
The board fumbled Dylan Fairchild all the way to the Round 4 slot, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick133
Rnd4
Fadil Diggs
They reached into another round for Fadil Diggs, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick205
Rnd6
Clay Webb
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Clay Webb well ahead of where he belonged. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick248
Rnd7
Savion Williams
Steal is underselling it; Savion Williams at the 248th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
