jdoc3 DRAFTING FOR THEEagles
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Eagles: B-. Nobody had Phil Jurkovec this high, and it is not close. The Eagles reached 48 spots to get him at No. 253.
The Thomas Jr. pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
Job largely done: cornerback settled and 7 of 9 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
They reached into another round for Cooper DeJean, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick51
Rnd2
Kingsley Suamataia
No edge and no loss on Kingsley Suamataia in slot 51; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick64
Rnd2
Quinyon Mitchell
Quinyon Mitchell at No. 64 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick97
Rnd3
Brian Thomas Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr. in pick 97 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick137
Rnd5
Jamon Dumas-Johnson
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 137 with a little surplus value in Jamon Dumas-Johnson. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick147
Rnd5
Darius Robinson
A tidy little value on Darius Robinson in the 147th pick, a step better than break-even. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick172
Rnd5
Will Shipley
Nice patience on Will Shipley, who had no business lasting to No. 172. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick178
Rnd6
Brevyn Spann-Ford
Brevyn Spann-Ford in Round 6, Pick 3 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick253
Rnd7
Phil Jurkovec
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Phil Jurkovec well ahead of where he belonged. The roster fit checks out.
