Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall D+
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureA+
Nix is the plan now, and the Broncos grade out a D+.

The phones were a trap the Broncos kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.

So much rides on Bo Nix that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Franklin reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Bo Nix
In slot 30 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick68 Rnd3 Zach Frazier
Zach Frazier in pick No. 68 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick76 Rnd3 Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson at the 76th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick122 Rnd4 Sataoa Laumea
They took Sataoa Laumea at par in No. 122, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick149 Rnd5 Cam Hart
Cam Hart is a better player than pick 149 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick167 Rnd5 McCallan Castles
They read the board right and McCallan Castles was the payoff at Round 5, Pick 31. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick168 Rnd5 Keith Randolph Jr.
Keith Randolph Jr. in the 168th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick233 Rnd7 Zakhari Franklin
Zakhari Franklin in the Round 7 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick241 Rnd7 Daequan Hardy
Daequan Hardy at the 241st overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
