You build a draft on nights like this. Ricky Pearsall had no business being available in Round 7, Pick 15, and the Broncos did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at interior defensive lineman, tight end and other spots.

The trade work was a quiet net positive.
