More right than wrong for the Chargers, and a B- to prove it.

There is reaching, and then there is Cody Schrader at the 143rd overall pick. The Chargers jumped the board by 36 and dared it to prove them wrong. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

In the 6th pick they get a mismatch in the passing game. A real need, handled.
Pick38 Rnd2 Kamari Lassiter
No edge and no loss on Kamari Lassiter in the 38th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick70 Rnd3 Leonard Taylor III
Leonard Taylor III at pick No. 70 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

They jumped the gun on Junior Colson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.

Cody Schrader at Round 5, Pick 7 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
