You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Patriots did exactly that with Emery Jones Jr. in the 77th overall pick.

The Sauls pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
