FOXY KNOXY DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks

FutureB
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Seahawks and Wilson: B. You could see the war room lean forward. Jared Wilson at the 175th pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
Reaching for Hawes left real value on the table behind him. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
In pick No. 23 they get a disruptive interior force at fair value.
Pick50
Rnd2
Bradyn Swinson
A reach for Bradyn Swinson in the Round 2 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick52
Rnd2
Demetrius Knight Jr.
A straight-up fair deal on Demetrius Knight Jr. at Round 2, Pick 20, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick82
Rnd3
Jonah Savaiinaea
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jonah Savaiinaea reach the 82nd overall pick and blink. They did not. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick92
Rnd3
Zy Alexander
They will replay Zy Alexander at slot 92 for years; that is how good the value is. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick137
Rnd4
Elijah Arroyo
Elijah Arroyo at the 137th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick159
Rnd5
Logan Brown
A quiet steal in pick 159: Logan Brown for less than the market said. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick172
Rnd5
Cobee Bryant
They jumped the gun on Cobee Bryant, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jared Wilson
Somehow Jared Wilson was still sitting there in Round 5, Pick 37, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick198
Rnd6
JJ Pegues
A tidy bit of business in slot 198, where JJ Pegues graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
Pick223
Rnd7
Jackson Hawes
Jackson Hawes in No. 223 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick234
Rnd7
Jordan Hancock
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Jordan Hancock in pick 234, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
