Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureC+
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Raiders a B.

If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Raiders, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. The bottom line is a respectable B.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. If Trotter Jr. pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
Amarius Mims in No. 18 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick49 Rnd2 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at slot 49 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick77 Rnd3 Johnny Wilson
By-the-book stuff, Johnny Wilson at pick No. 77 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick112 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
Fair-plus on Khyree Jackson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick150 Rnd5 Braelon Allen
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Braelon Allen. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick190 Rnd6 AJ Barner
No edge and no loss on AJ Barner in the 190th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick234 Rnd7 Trevor Keegan
They took Trevor Keegan at par in Round 7, Pick 14, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
