You build a draft on nights like this. Jordan Phillips had no business being available in Round 5, Pick 34, and the Seahawks did the only sane thing and turned in the card. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

Reaching for Mauigoa left real value on the table behind him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
