There is reaching, and then there is Warren Brinson at slot 249. The 49ers jumped the board by 40 and dared it to prove them wrong. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. On value alone, Scourton makes the weekend a net positive. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
