Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Texans spent pick No. 241 on Barryn Sorrell, a name the board had a full 74 spots lower.

Getting Williams where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
