The Dolphins bet big and early on Kai Kroeger, 31 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Shough pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.
