Djfitz DRAFTING FOR THEGiants

FutureA+
Quarterback settled, Beck in the fold, and a A- for the Giants. Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Giants spent pick 65 on Tonka Hemingway, a name the board had a full 102 spots lower. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A- to cap it.
Carson Beck is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. The Moore pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.
The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Denzel Burke
In pick 12 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick13
Rnd1
Carson Beck
A conviction pick on Carson Beck at the Round 1 slot that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick29
Rnd1
Tre Harris
In the 29th pick they get a true top target at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick40
Rnd2
Emery Jones Jr.
A slide stopped in No. 40, with Emery Jones Jr. worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick44
Rnd2
Isaiah Bond
They barely believed it either: Isaiah Bond still on the board at pick No. 44. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick65
Rnd3
Tonka Hemingway
A big swing on Tonka Hemingway at Round 3, Pick 1, well ahead of any board in the building. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick80
Rnd3
Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon II in the 80th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The roster fit checks out.
Pick87
Rnd3
Tyler Warren
A premium they did not need to pay, Tyler Warren a notch or two before his time. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick107
Rnd4
Evan Stewart
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Evan Stewart at Round 4, Pick 6. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick116
Rnd4
Danny Stutsman
They will replay Danny Stutsman at the 116th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick130
Rnd4
Riley Mahlman
Somehow Riley Mahlman was still sitting there in the Round 4 slot, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick132
Rnd4
Riley Leonard
They robbed the room for Riley Leonard here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick134
Rnd4
Malachi Moore
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Malachi Moore in pick 134, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick139
Rnd5
Collin Oliver
Value said wait; Collin Oliver in pick No. 139 says they were not listening. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick153
Rnd5
Julian Fleming
Julian Fleming at the 153rd pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick175
Rnd5
Tim Smith
A wild overpay on Tim Smith in pick 175, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick188
Rnd6
Jonah Coleman
Jonah Coleman in the Round 6 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick207
Rnd6
Quincy Riley
Quincy Riley in slot 207 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick217
Rnd7
Alfred Collins
They talked themselves into Alfred Collins at pick No. 217, and the board did not agree. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick223
Rnd7
Damien Martinez
By-the-book stuff, Damien Martinez at No. 223 squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Pick242
Rnd7
Korey Foreman
They reached a country mile for Korey Foreman at Round 7, Pick 28, and the board is aghast. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
