The Texans treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending slot 128 on Tanner McLachlan a full 94 spots early.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The Texans indulged a want in Rakestraw Jr. while a need in interior defensive lineman and quarterback stayed open.

Gore Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
