Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B-

The Bears found their guy under center in Daniels: B-.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Bears' quarterback, full stop. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Reaching for Hart left real value on the table behind him. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Malik Nabers
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a true top target at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick6 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
They paid sticker price for Jayden Daniels in slot 6, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick68 Rnd3 Jackson Powers-Johnson
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jackson Powers-Johnson in pick No. 68, miles early. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick104 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams at the 104th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick132 Rnd4 Devontez Walker
Devontez Walker at No. 132 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick141 Rnd5 Cam Hart
Cam Hart in pick 141 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick182 Rnd6 Oronde Gadsden II
Oronde Gadsden II at the 182nd pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick225 Rnd7 DeWayne Carter
DeWayne Carter at the Round 7 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
