The search is over. The 49ers handed the keys to Shedeur Sanders, and the whole operation now runs on his development.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Brooks. The cost of the Turner reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The 49ers indulged a want in Amos while a need in edge rusher stayed open.

The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
