Colt37 DRAFTING FOR THEColts

Draft Grade — Colts
Overall

FutureB-
The Colts kept it disciplined and banked a B-. Nobody else had Jordan Travis anywhere near the 151st pick. The Colts did, by 22 spots, and that gap is the whole story.
They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. The Gore Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Quinyon Mitchell
Quinyon Mitchell at Round 1, Pick 15 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick46
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
They paid sticker price for Xavier Worthy in slot 46, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick82
Rnd3
Christian Mahogany
Christian Mahogany at the 82nd pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick117
Rnd4
James Williams
A reach for James Williams in pick 117; a little patience would have been rewarded. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick151
Rnd5
Jordan Travis
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jordan Travis this early at No. 151. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick191
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
They went early on Joe Milton III in the 191st overall pick, and the value did not follow. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick234
Rnd7
Frank Gore Jr.
The board had Frank Gore Jr. higher than Round 7, Pick 14, and the running back fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
