Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall C+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesD- FutureB-
The Ravens won the night they stopped Devonshire from sliding. Grade: C+.

When a board-topper like M.J. Devonshire slides to slot 228, you do not overthink it, and the Ravens did not. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

Reaching for Jefferson left real value on the table behind him. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Hit on Keon Coleman and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick47 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
Good price on Keon Coleman in pick 47, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick62 Rnd2 Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia in Round 2, Pick 30 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick70 Rnd3 Xavier Worthy
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Xavier Worthy at the 70th overall pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick74 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
Mike Sainristil at the 74th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick79 Rnd3 Jonah Elliss
Jonah Elliss at slot 79 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It fills a real need, too.
Pick165 Rnd5 Jordan Jefferson
They reached into another round for Jordan Jefferson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick218 Rnd6 Curtis Jacobs
Circle this one: Curtis Jacobs at pick No. 218 is a fall that decides a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick228 Rnd7 M.J. Devonshire
M.J. Devonshire in No. 228 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick250 Rnd7 Kimani Vidal
They took Kimani Vidal at par in pick No. 250, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
