Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
Nobody dealt better than the Steelers this weekend: B.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Steelers came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.

Every board in the league had Milton III lower, and that gap is the story. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

They will answer for taking offensive lineman early while interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots went begging. That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Kamari Lassiter
In No. 25 they get an island corner. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick55 Rnd2 Kris Jenkins
They did well to land Kris Jenkins in pick No. 55, just ahead of his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick59 Rnd2 Jackson Powers-Johnson
They paid sticker price for Jackson Powers-Johnson in slot 59, and that is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick87 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Dominick Puni at offensive lineman with interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots open.
Pick122 Rnd4 Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at pick 122 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick123 Rnd4 Joe Milton III
They reached into another round for Joe Milton III, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick201 Rnd6 Michael Barrett
Michael Barrett at the Round 6 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick244 Rnd7 Eric Gentry
Nothing to complain about; Eric Gentry went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
