Larceny in the Round 7 slot lands the 49ers a B-, Rourke and all.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Kurtis Rourke tumbling to the 49ers in Round 7, Pick 14 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

Riley has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Grey Zabel
Grey Zabel at No. 11 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick43 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks slid further than he should have, and slot 43 is lovely value for the safety. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick75 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in pick No. 75 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick100 Rnd3 Carson Schwesinger
They read the board right and Carson Schwesinger was the payoff at Round 3, Pick 36. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick113 Rnd4 Quincy Riley
They left a pile of value on the table to take Quincy Riley this early at pick 113. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick138 Rnd4 Mitchell Evans
They paid sticker price for Mitchell Evans in the Round 4 slot, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick147 Rnd5 Joshua Gray
A big swing on Joshua Gray at the 147th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick187 Rnd6 Ryan Fitzgerald
They robbed the room for Ryan Fitzgerald here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick226 Rnd7 Kobe Hudson
The board fumbled Kobe Hudson all the way to the Round 7 slot, and they scooped it up. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick230 Rnd7 Kurtis Rourke
They barely believed it either: Kurtis Rourke still on the board at the 230th overall pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick249 Rnd7 Kai Kroeger
Kai Kroeger at the 249th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick252 Rnd7 Tonka Hemingway
No edge and no loss on Tonka Hemingway in slot 252; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
