Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB+ FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Buccaneers: B-.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Buccaneers would have aced it. Johnny Wilson at No. 95 is 31 spots clear of where he belonged. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

On value alone, Travis makes the weekend a net positive. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Chris Braswell
Chris Braswell at slot 32 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The roster fit checks out.
Pick57 Rnd2 Christian Haynes
A reach on Christian Haynes in the 57th overall pick; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick89 Rnd3 Mekhi Wingo
This one needs a full-page explanation: Mekhi Wingo in No. 89, miles early. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick92 Rnd3 Cedric Gray
Value said wait; Cedric Gray in the 92nd pick says they were not listening. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick93 Rnd3 Blake Corum
They let Blake Corum come to them and pounced at Round 3, Pick 30. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick95 Rnd3 Johnny Wilson
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Johnny Wilson well ahead of where he belonged. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick113 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
They paid a round early for Ben Sinnott in the Round 4 slot, more than the board wanted. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick141 Rnd5 Jaylin Simpson
Jaylin Simpson at the 141st overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick159 Rnd5 Tanor Bortolini
They reached into another round for Tanor Bortolini, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick183 Rnd6 Jordan Travis
Jordan Travis is a better player than Round 6, Pick 8 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick220 Rnd6 Frank Gore Jr.
No edge and no loss on Frank Gore Jr. in the 220th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick246 Rnd7 Tyrice Knight
Tyrice Knight in pick 246 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
