The war room fell hard for J.J. Weaver, and it showed at the 250th pick: 67 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.

Johnson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
