Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
F
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesF
FutureD-
The Fiske reach set the tone, and the Bills never recovered: F. The Bills treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending slot 204 on Braden Fiske a full 90 spots early. A F, plain and simple.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Fuaga pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with linebacker still staring back at them.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Dallas Turner
In Round 1, Pick 15 they get juice off the edge. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick29
Rnd1
Keon Coleman
In pick 29 they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick50
Rnd2
Taliese Fuaga
Taliese Fuaga in the 50th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick51
Rnd2
Malachi Corley
A conviction pick on Malachi Corley at slot 51 that the board grades a round light. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick64
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
No drama and no debate, Chris Braswell went about where he belonged in the 64th pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick99
Rnd3
Tyleik Williams
They went early on Tyleik Williams in the Round 3 slot, and the value did not follow. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick118
Rnd4
Roman Wilson
Roman Wilson at the Round 4 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick146
Rnd5
T.J. Sanders
A straight-up fair deal on T.J. Sanders at pick No. 146, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick155
Rnd5
Joe Milton III
They robbed the room for Joe Milton III here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It fills a real need, too.
Pick191
Rnd6
Miles Frazier
No edge and no loss on Miles Frazier in pick 191; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick196
Rnd6
Landon Jackson
They reached a country mile for Landon Jackson at the 196th pick, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick204
Rnd6
Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske at the 204th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick239
Rnd7
Zy Alexander
Taking Zy Alexander in Round 7, Pick 19 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
