The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Giants spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. They are betting Williams proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Smith-Wade at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
