Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesC+ FutureB-
The 49ers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The 49ers walked out of the weekend still thin at interior defensive lineman, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.

The Haynes value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Greene III has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Isaiah World
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick70 Rnd3 Jalon Kilgore
They took Jalon Kilgore at par in No. 70, which is nothing to complain about. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick92 Rnd3 Logan Jones
By-the-book stuff, Logan Jones at pick No. 92 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick128 Rnd4 Earnest Greene III
Earnest Greene III at the 128th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick134 Rnd4 Justice Haynes
Justice Haynes is a better player than Round 4, Pick 32 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick137 Rnd4 Ahmaad Moses
Nice patience on Ahmaad Moses, who had no business lasting to pick 137. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick167 Rnd5 Rasheem Biles
A tidy bit of business in the 167th pick, where Rasheem Biles graded well above the range. It fills a real need, too.
Pick174 Rnd5 Miller Moss
Miller Moss slipping to slot 174 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick206 Rnd6 Anthony Evans III
They let Anthony Evans III come to them and pounced at Round 6, Pick 30. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick241 Rnd7 Tony Grimes
Value with a capital V on Tony Grimes in slot 241, a genuine coup. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
