There is conviction, and then there is this. The Giants took Xavier Truss a full 83 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.

The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
