Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Elijhah Badger at pick No. 253 is 38 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. It is not that Winston Jr. is a bad player; it is that the Dolphins had louder needs to answer first. However the rest shakes out, Howard at that price is a win they earned.

A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
