Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall D+
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureC
The Steelers lost the trade table, and the D+ tells the story.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Steelers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Put together, it is a D+.

They are betting Kiser proves the room right and everyone else wrong. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Ransaw value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Luther Burden III
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Luther Burden III at the Round 1 slot is the proof. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick56 Rnd2 Trey Amos
Trey Amos at pick 56 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick63 Rnd2 TreVeyon Henderson
A quiet steal in pick No. 63: TreVeyon Henderson for less than the market said. The roster fit checks out.
Pick66 Rnd3 Tre Harris
They did well to land Tre Harris in the 66th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick102 Rnd3 Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe at slot 102 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick123 Rnd4 Jordan Phillips
Jordan Phillips at Round 4, Pick 21 is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick130 Rnd4 Hollin Pierce
Hollin Pierce at the 130th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick156 Rnd5 Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser at No. 156 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick185 Rnd6 Chase Lundt
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Chase Lundt in No. 185. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick229 Rnd7 Caleb Ransaw
Caleb Ransaw in the 229th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
