Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Packers for Skattebo: B.

You could see the war room lean forward. Cam Skattebo at No. 237 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. The bottom line is a respectable B.

They are betting Davis proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

It is not that Paul Jr. is a bad player; it is that the Packers had louder needs to answer first.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Mykel Williams
In the Round 1 slot they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick54 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
They robbed the room for Jalon Walker here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick87 Rnd3 Harold Fannin Jr.
The board fumbled Harold Fannin Jr. all the way to slot 87, and they scooped it up. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick123 Rnd4 Chris Paul Jr.
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending pick 123 on Chris Paul Jr. with quarterback, wide receiver and other spots unsolved.
Pick158 Rnd5 Quincy Riley
Quincy Riley in Round 5, Pick 21 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick196 Rnd6 Jake Majors
Circle this one: Jake Majors at No. 196 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick208 Rnd6 Cody Simon
They barely believed it either: Cody Simon still on the board at the 208th pick. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick237 Rnd7 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo in pick No. 237 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick250 Rnd7 Fred Davis
They reached into another round for Fred Davis, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
