Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-

The Packers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

The Packers bet big and early on Jasheen Davis, 110 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right.

However the rest shakes out, Howard at that price is a win they earned. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

A fair-value weekend of trading, no edge to be found.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Grey Zabel
In No. 23 they get an anchor for the offensive line, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick54 Rnd2 Trey Amos
A tidy little value on Trey Amos in slot 54, a step better than break-even. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick87 Rnd3 Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins slid further than he should have, and the Round 3 slot is lovely value for the wide receiver. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick123 Rnd4 Barrett Carter
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Barrett Carter in the 123rd overall pick, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick160 Rnd5 Will Howard
Will Howard at Round 5, Pick 21 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick205 Rnd6 Seth McLaughlin
A wild overpay on Seth McLaughlin in pick No. 205, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick239 Rnd7 Jack Kiser
Taking Jack Kiser in Round 7, Pick 21 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick245 Rnd7 Jordan Hancock
They robbed the room for Jordan Hancock here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick251 Rnd7 Jasheen Davis
A real head-scratcher, Jasheen Davis in No. 251 is miles ahead of his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
