The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Jordan Phillips, the No. 112 name on the board, sitting there at pick 160 like a gift left on the doorstep. No fireworks, but a solid B+.

They will need Williams to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
