Draft Grade — Packers
Overall C+
ValueB- NeedB TradesD- FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Packers to a C+.

The Packers spent real capital to be 42 picks early on Elijhah Badger, and the board is going to hold them to it. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.

Walker falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

With quarterback and tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.

It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Shavon Revel Jr.
In No. 23 they get a sticky cover corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick54 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
The board fumbled Jalon Walker all the way to Round 2, Pick 22, and they scooped it up. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick87 Rnd3 Chris Paul Jr.
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Chris Paul Jr. adds a linebacker and leaves quarterback and tight end untouched.
Pick124 Rnd4 Nohl Williams
They paid sticker price for Nohl Williams in the 124th overall pick, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick159 Rnd5 Logan Brown
Logan Brown is a better player than the Round 5 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick161 Rnd5 Ty Robinson
No edge and no loss on Ty Robinson in pick 161; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick164 Rnd5 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in slot 164 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick165 Rnd5 CJ West
CJ West at the Round 5 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick168 Rnd5 Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick198 Rnd6 Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon II at pick No. 198 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick237 Rnd7 Teddye Buchanan
Teddye Buchanan at Round 7, Pick 21 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick250 Rnd7 Elijhah Badger
A wild overpay on Elijhah Badger in the 250th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
