You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Packers did exactly that with CJ West in the Round 5 slot.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Brown.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
