They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Fernando Mendoza is the Dolphins' quarterback, full stop. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.

Every board in the league had Birchmeier lower, and that gap is the story. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Fletcher Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The Dolphins indulged a want in Muhammad while a need in interior defensive lineman, tight end and other spots stayed open.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
