The Dolphins drew a line under the quarterback search with Mendoza: D.

Nobody else had D'Angelo Ponds anywhere near the 75th overall pick. The Dolphins did, by 32 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. So much rides on Fernando Mendoza that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The Tate value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
