A franchise passer in Mendoza headlines a B weekend for the Browns.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Browns spent their marquee pick on Fernando Mendoza, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

The cost of the Smith reach is exactly the players who went right after him. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
