Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall D
ValueA- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Cowboys let Moore fall and pounced. Final grade: D.

The Cowboys spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Dante Moore, the No. 5 name on the board, in the Round 7 slot. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. It is not that Haulcy is a bad player; it is that the Cowboys had louder needs to answer first.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Reaching for Little Jr. left real value on the table behind him.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 David Bailey
By-the-book stuff, David Bailey at slot 15 squarely in line with his ranking. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick28 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
Arvell Reese in the 28th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick57 Rnd2 Jermod McCoy
Somehow Jermod McCoy was still sitting there in pick 57, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick91 Rnd3 Earl Little Jr.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Earl Little Jr. well ahead of where he belonged. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick115 Rnd4 A.J. Haulcy
A curious use of the 115th pick. Interior defensive lineman needed the pick; a safety in A.J. Haulcy did not.
Pick126 Rnd4 Dillon Thieneman
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Dillon Thieneman adds a safety and leaves interior defensive lineman untouched.
Pick155 Rnd5 Kaytron Allen
Kaytron Allen at Round 5, Pick 15 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick178 Rnd5 Jordyn Tyson
They will replay Jordyn Tyson at the Round 5 slot for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick179 Rnd5 Spencer Fano
They barely believed it either: Spencer Fano still on the board at the Round 5 slot. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick215 Rnd6 Kenyon Sadiq
They robbed the room for Kenyon Sadiq here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick216 Rnd7 Dante Moore
Dante Moore in pick No. 216 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick229 Rnd7 CJ Daniels
CJ Daniels at slot 229 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
