Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureC+
A solid, sensible weekend for the Dolphins: B-.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Dolphins were there to profit. Sawyer Robertson, the No. 194 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick 225. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

They will need Durant to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

Spending an early pick on safety with edge rusher and tight end open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with quarterback the one that mattered most.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In pick 10 they get a green-dot type in the middle. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick44 Rnd2 Germie Bernard
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Germie Bernard. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick75 Rnd3 Zakee Wheatley
Zakee Wheatley in pick No. 75 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick79 Rnd3 Brian Parker II
Brian Parker II at the 79th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick93 Rnd3 Earl Little Jr.
A want over a need in pick 93: Earl Little Jr. adds a safety while edge rusher and tight end keeps waiting.
Pick110 Rnd4 Blake Miller
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Blake Miller well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick137 Rnd4 Jadarian Price
No edge and no loss on Jadarian Price in slot 137; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick152 Rnd5 Zane Durant
Zane Durant in Round 5, Pick 12 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick225 Rnd7 Sawyer Robertson
Sawyer Robertson in No. 225 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
