There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Bears started one anyway for PJ Williams, 216 picks ahead of schedule. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

That Coleman pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
