Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall
D
ValueB+
NeedB+
TradesF
FutureC+
The Raiders let Beck fall and pounced. Final grade: D. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Raiders shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.
A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. Beck falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
The Raiders clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Keldric Faulk
In the 17th pick they get a disruptor off the edge, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick39
Rnd2
Christen Miller
Christen Miller at No. 39 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick51
Rnd2
Zachariah Branch
Circle this one: Zachariah Branch at Round 2, Pick 19 is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick73
Rnd3
Keon Sabb
Keon Sabb in pick No. 73 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick107
Rnd4
Carson Beck
Carson Beck in the 107th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick135
Rnd4
Bryce Boettcher
A tidy bit of business in slot 135, where Bryce Boettcher graded well above the range. A minor itch, scratched.
