Nobody else had Roman Hemby anywhere near the 202nd overall pick. The Dolphins did, by 152 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Fernando Mendoza gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. With edge rusher and interior defensive lineman unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Johnson.
