Jaybeast17 DRAFTING FOR THEBrowns

Draft Grade — Browns

FutureB-
The Browns drew a line under the quarterback search with Johnson: D. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Browns reached some 242 spots for Avery Johnson, and value like that does not grow back.
On value alone, Delane makes the weekend a net positive. The whole projection now runs through Avery Johnson; hit there and everything else looks smarter.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Avery Johnson
In the 19th overall pick they get their quarterback of the future, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick20
Rnd1
Makhi Hughes
In No. 20 they get a bell-cow for the offense, a steep price for the projection. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38
Rnd2
Denzel Boston
Nice patience on Denzel Boston, who had no business lasting to slot 38. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick51
Rnd2
Conner Weigman
Value said wait; Conner Weigman in pick No. 51 says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick69
Rnd3
Max Iheanachor
Max Iheanachor at the Round 3 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick99
Rnd3
Davison Igbinosun
They reached a country mile for Davison Igbinosun at Round 3, Pick 35, and the board is aghast. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick104
Rnd4
Isaiah Nwokobia
Isaiah Nwokobia at the 104th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick145
Rnd5
Evan Stewart
Evan Stewart at the 145th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick146
Rnd5
Jehiem Oatis
Jehiem Oatis in No. 146 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick151
Rnd5
A'Marion Peterson
They left a pile of value on the table to take A'Marion Peterson this early at pick 151. The roster fit checks out.
Pick199
Rnd6
Pat Coogan
A real head-scratcher, Pat Coogan in pick No. 199 is miles ahead of his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Pick212
Rnd6
Mansoor Delane
Mansoor Delane in Round 6, Pick 34 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick234
Rnd7
Eli Stowers
They will replay Eli Stowers at slot 234 for years; that is how good the value is. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick245
Rnd7
James Williams Sr.
They talked themselves into James Williams Sr. at the Round 7 slot, and the board did not agree. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
