Draft Grade — Bengals

FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Bengals for Mincey: B+. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bengals were there to profit. Zavier Mincey, the No. 156 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 187. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Bengals paired the rookies with proven help, Kyle Pitts leading the way.
Job largely done: cornerback settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Leonard Moore
Leonard Moore in the Round 1 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick23
Rnd1
Matayo Uiagalelei
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick41
Rnd2
PJ Williams
PJ Williams at the 41st pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick72
Rnd3
Sammy Brown
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Sammy Brown in pick No. 72. The roster fit checks out.
Pick187
Rnd6
Zavier Mincey
Zavier Mincey at No. 187 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick226
Rnd7
Cole Sullivan
They let Cole Sullivan come to them and pounced at pick 226. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
