Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B
ValueC NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Mensah in the fold, and a B for the Dolphins.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Dolphins committed. Darian Mensah is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

Mensah has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Darian Mensah
In pick No. 15 they get a franchise quarterback, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick18 Rnd1 Trey'Dez Green
In the 18th pick they get a red-zone target to build around at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Jadan Baugh
They took Jadan Baugh at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick67 Rnd3 Princewill Umanmielen
Princewill Umanmielen at Round 3, Pick 3 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick104 Rnd4 Jaylen McClain
Value with a capital V on Jaylen McClain in No. 104, a genuine coup. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick138 Rnd5 Kam Robinson
Kam Robinson at pick 138 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick159 Rnd5 Xavier Lucas
Nothing to complain about; Xavier Lucas went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick186 Rnd6 Earnest Greene III
A straight-up fair deal on Earnest Greene III at the 186th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick245 Rnd7 Stephiylan Green
Stephiylan Green in pick No. 245 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick254 Rnd7 Sullivan Absher
They paid sticker price for Sullivan Absher in pick 254, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
