Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall B
ValueC NeedB+ TradesB FutureB
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Falcons a B.

The Amaris Williams selection is the head-turner. The Falcons reached 25 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick60 Rnd2 Braylon Staley
Braylon Staley at pick 60 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick82 Rnd3 Brandon Baker
They paid sticker price for Brandon Baker in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick114 Rnd4 Jordan Marshall
They jumped the gun on Jordan Marshall, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick161 Rnd5 Amaris Williams
A real head-scratcher, Amaris Williams in slot 161 is miles ahead of his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Pick186 Rnd6 Benjamin Brahmer
Benjamin Brahmer at pick No. 186 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick202 Rnd6 Elinneus Davis
A straight-up fair deal on Elinneus Davis at the 202nd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick212 Rnd6 John Mateer
They paid up for John Mateer at No. 212 when waiting would have done the job. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick231 Rnd7 Charles Jagusah
No edge and no loss on Charles Jagusah in the Round 7 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
